"I've been volunteering with Rock the Ocean Foundation at Tortuga Music Festival for five years now, and it never gets old. Beyond the incredible music and energy on the beach, what struck me most over the years is seeing how much genuine care goes into protecting our oceans behind the scenes. From coordinating with fellow volunteers to helping festival-goers understand the foundation's conservation mission, every hour has felt purposeful. It's rare to find an event where you can dance to your favorite artists during the day and know that a portion of what makes it all possible is funding real marine research and environmental education. Five years in, I leave with new friendships, and a real sense of pride knowing I helped support a cause that's protecting Florida's coastlines for future generations.
