DESCRIPTION:Join our Conservation Village Partners\, Coastal Connections\, and lend a hand by helping clean up the sand! \nJoin their quarterly Coastal Cleanup at The Cove in Sebastian Inlet State Park on Tuesday\, August 4th\, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for a beach cleanup along the Indian River Lagoon. Do your part to help keep the inlet and our beautiful state park debris-free while protecting local marine life\, one piece of debris at a time. \nWe will meet on the north side of the park near the bathrooms at The Cove. All essential cleanup supplies will be provided\, but be sure to bring a reusable water bottle\, sun protection\, bug repellent\, and your neighbors\, friends\, and family \nLet the park ranger at the front gate know you are there to participate in the cleanup for FREE entry! \nNo RSVP necessary. DESCRIPTION:Join Us For a Sea Turtle Hatchling Release! \nHosted by NSU Broward County Sea Turtle Conservation Program – 2 hatchling dates available for Rock The Ocean supporters! \nPrepare yourself for the truly wonderful experience of witnessing endangered sea turtle hatchlings begin their great journey. The evening program begins at 8 PM at Nova Southeastern University’s Halmos College of Arts and Sciences-Oceanographic Campus. Following a ~45-minute educational presentation on sea turtle conservation\, the state of sea turtles\, and the work carried out by the Broward County Sea Turtle Conservation Program at NSU\, the group will caravan down to Hollywood North Beach Park to observe our sea turtle specialists release the hatchlings right on the sands of Hollywood Beach and wish them well as they make their journey to the wild blue ocean. \nThe presentation will take place inside the Guy Harvey Oceanographic Center\, NSU’s state-of-the-art research center\, in the 3rd floor auditorium. Our campus is located at the far north end of Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park (notify gate attendant you are attending an event at NSU) on the west side of the road between the Coast Guard and Navy. All guests must attend the presentation prior to the release. \nEvent Arrival Time: 7:45PM\nPresentation Start Time: 8:00PM\nPresentation Address: 8000 N Ocean Dr. Dania Beach\, FL 33004\nPresentation Location: 3rd Floor Auditorium Guy Harvey Oceanographic Center\nCost: $15.00 per person \nClick Here to Register  \nEven though the release takes place at night\, don’t worry about not being able to see! There is always plenty of light on South Florida beaches at night. As such\, no artificial lights\, cameras\, or video equipment are permitted at the release site. Authorized staff will have red LED flashlights to use periodically to aid in observing the release. \nAll proceeds from tickets purchased for hatchling releases go directly toward furthering sea turtle conservation efforts at NSU. Because of this\, all proceeds are treated as donations to the sea turtle program\, and therefore no refunds will be given for any reason. Pre-registration and pre-payment are both required\, and no walk-ins are accepted. There are a limited number of tickets available for each release night. Each adult and child (3 years and older) attending needs to purchase a separate ticket. Once all tickets have been sold for a date\, that event will close. \nThere is no guarantee that hatchlings will be observed on any given night. The hatchling releases run by the Broward County Sea Turtle Conservation Program are subject to change or cancellation if weather conditions are not favorable.
